In the late 1990s, my family needed a well. The local water company wanted 1500$ just to give us a meter – even though the lines ran right past our house. We couldn't afford that, so we talked to people, read books, experimented, failed, and tried again, for over two years until our first successful well.

One definition for the word expert is "a person who has made every mistake it is possible to make in a very narrow field". Well, we made about every mistake a person could make, learned from it, wrote it down, then filmed a video about it; and that's what you see on this website.

We make all of the parts we sell in our cottage factory in East Texas. Our drill motors are custom made to our specifications in Taiwan and we buy directly from the manufacturer to keep costs down. All the other parts, such as the drill housing, drill bits, air pumps and so on, are all made and assembled by us or our employees in the USA.

Well drilling is not as difficult as the "experts" make it seem. It's not as easy as building a birdhouse, but it's not rocket science either. If you have problems building birdhouses, or following instructions, I wouldn't recommend you try to drill your own well; or if you need a well yesterday and can't wait, and don't want any hassle – well, that's what professional well drillers are for.

On the other hand, if you're reasonably competent, can follow instructions and use normal farm/garage tools, you have an excellent chance of drilling a well without anyone's help, and for a lot less than the professionals charge.
